Day II started out slowly. I think I slept over 10 hours that night, ha. Kyunmi prepared this lovely breakfast: Kimchi fried rice with bacon and cheddar cheese. I dream of this every morning.
I'm probably the one of who will be tickled by this, but Astérix et Obélix: Mission Cléopatre was on TV while we were getting ready! Jamel, je t'aime! ♥
By 2pm, we made our way to Apgujeong, a shopping area in Gangnam.
The Jetoy stores both crack me up and scare me to death.
While our friend was getting her hair done, Kyunmi and I shared some delish' fries with chili and sour cream and a hot dog at New York Fries. I also dream about this sometimes.
Later, we went to Gangnam Station, another shopping area but this one's much bigger with many many people.
After some walking around and window shopping, we had 돼지갈비 Barbecued spareribs, 물 냉면 Buckwheat noodles in cold broth, and 된장찌개 Soybean paste stew. It was the first time I had the cold noodle soup dish and even though I thought it was a bit unusual, it was alright.
After dinner, we wanted to have a change of scenery and decided to go take a walk along the Han River, but we got a little lost along the way. We ended up at a part of the Hangang Riverside park that was not very inviting. So we hopped in a taxi and let him guide us to the right place.
...Except that even the nice part of the park was very dark. It turned out that the park's lights were being cleaned that week, and therefore were not all in use that night. After taking a couple of pictures, we quickly made our way to the nearest Starbucks to warm up with some hot chocolate and then took the subway home.
OMG. Stoppit! I love kimchi fried rice! And bacon! And cheese! Gahhhh!!! Jennifer, you are looking more and more Asian by the day. Hahahaha!
ReplyDeleteYou can tell from that one picture, eh? haha
